With a population of over 2 million fish, sturgeon fishing on the Columbia River is quite simply the best in the world. These fish are excellent biters, hard fighters, and some of the finest table fare that swims. The sturgeon fishery is carefully managed and provides excellent action virtually all months of the year. Placed against the backdrop of the awe inspiring Columbia River Gorge, you’ll enjoy a world-class fishery in one of the planet’s most beautiful places.

We target two specific fisheries for sturgeon. The first is for "keepers", those fish from 42-60" long (yes, 3-1/2-5 feet!) that are legal to keep for the table. We stay on the best fishing throughout the river system, from the estuary in Astoria all the way into the Gorge at Hood River. In a day’s effort it is not uncommon to bring over fifty fish to the boat when the numerous "short" or sublegal fish are included. Fun? Fun doesn’t begin to explain it.

Beginning in May and extending through the summer, we offer trips for "oversized" sturgeon. Technically, these are fish larger than the five-foot maximum keeper size. For the angler, these giants are fish up to fourteen feet in length and weighing 300, 400 and even 500 lbs.! Above that these behemoths often jump completely from the water on their initial run—truly a sight to behold! Utilizing specialized tackle and careful boat control, we bring this big game experience to anglers of all skill levels.
